Earlier in his career Mohamed worked on numerous excavation projects in Cyrenaica and performed archaeological survey ahead of development work taking place in the Libyan desert.
Mohamed Omar Abdrbba has been a tutor for the EAMENA’s training workshops held in Tunis in 2017, 2018 and 2019. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Archaeology at the University of Omar Al-Mukhtar in Libya. He received a BA in Archaeology from the University of Benghazi in 1996 and an MA in Archaeology at the University of Alexandria in 2008. Recently he has organised archaeological research in the region of Cyrene, which formed the subject of his doctoral research, completed at the University of Leicester in 2019, and of a number of his forthcoming publications.
He has held a teaching positions at the University of Gar Younis from 2008 to 2012 and at the University of Omar Al-Mukhtar from 2009 to 2011. At the latter institution he was Head Department in 2012 and in the following year Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Omar Al-Mukhtar.
