I am actively involved in the ‘Libyan Antiquities at Risk’ project

I am archaeologist specialising in North Africa, with a particular focus on funerary archaeology and remote sensing. My research interests include the expression of social complexities through funerary iconography and architecture, and the diversity, changes and continuities in mortuary practices over time. I have recently finished my PhD thesis on the Roman-period mausolea of Tripolitania, Libya, at the University of Leicester. I am also a research assistant on the ‘Libyan Antiquities at Risk’ project (University of Leicester), which has at its aim to protect Libyan cultural heritage that is under threat of being removed and sold on the illegal Antiquities market. I undertook fieldwork on the Desert Migration Project in Fezzan, and on the Ghadames Archaeological Project, Libya. Currently I am a member of a Middle Draa Project, an archaeological survey that focuses on the Wadi Draa in Morocco.
